Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s)
premier scholarship program. Each year, more than 50,000 high school studentscompete for more than $2.3 million in scholarships and incentives. Students competeby writing and recording a broadcast script on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, Is There Pride in Serving in Our Military. WELCOME TO VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS BURNS POST 388  Wausau VFW Burns Post 388 was established on June 6 1920 and is named in honor of James and John Burns, brothers from Wausau who were killed in France during World War One. Our post is one of the largest in the state of Wisconsin and has always been active in supporting our community and it's veterans.

22nd ANNUAL CORNED BEEF DINNER
Please join us for our annual corned beef dinner on Sunday, March 18th. We will be serving from 11 AM-6 PM. Baked chicken will also be available. Call 715-842-0388 for carryouts or more information.
SUPERBOWL PARTY AT THE VFW
Join us for our Superbowl party on Sunday, February 5th. Drink specials, raffles and prizes during the game. Food served to all of our guests at halftime
STEAK NIGHT AT THE VFW
Join us for streak night the first Tuesday of every month. We serve delicious Townline Market ribeyes cooked to order with plenty of mushrooms and onions, a huge baked potato and salad bar. Spaghetti and meatballs also available. We serve from 4:30-8 PM. After dinner our swing band takes the stage.
FRIDAY LAND AND SEA BUFFET
Starting on Friday, February 3rd we will be serving a land and sea buffet in addition to our regular Friday fish fry. Cost for the buffet is $12.99.

$500 scholarship. First runner up: Marcus Newton Wausau West  $150 savings bond. Second runner up, Courtney Pagendorf, Wausau West $125 savings bond. Third runner up Calla Buttke Wausau West $100.00 savings bond. This years topic was Is There Pride in Serving in Our Military. Entries are judged on originality, content, and delivery.
